A Library plays a vital role in the search of knowledge. It is the storehouse of books and serves as a common workplace for the entire college – students and the faculty alike. ShaheedUdham Singh Panjab University Constituent College has a furnished Library that aims to support the teaching learning activities in the college and also provides the updated knowledge to the students. Italso ensures the optimum utilization of the available resources. Our aim is to inculcate in the students the habit of reading books and provide a conducive atmosphere for the students to enhance their knowledge by providing them with a well-equipped library in the College.
The library is situated on the top floor of the college. The library is provided with proper ventilation, lightning & fans.It can accommodate about 200 students at a time.
9 A.M. to 3 P.M. on all working days
It consists of general text books related to various subjects. Apart from that, there are number of Biographies, Autobiographies, and Competitive Books (UPSC, Civil Services and Punjab level competitive exam). Our library has a good collection of the rare publications of Panjab Universities. This apart, there is an ample stock of books on Religion and literature of different languages.
This section contains important Reference books on all subjects. It also includes dictionaries, encyclopaedias, thesaurus, travel guides, Almanac.
In this section magazines/periodicals and daily newspapers in Hindi, English and Punjabi can be accessed.
This section accommodate 200 students at a time.
This section is the hub of library activities where lending out of books to readers is facilitated. The circulation of books for studying is the major service provided by the library. All the members of the library visit this section for getting books on loan for use.
Library provides book bank facility to the needy and deserving students for the whole session. The issued Text books have to be returned after annual examination.
